What do I hate about Rescue Me? There would only be one thing that I can’t stand about this show and that’s the fact that I absolutely can’t talk about it with any of my girlfriends because they absolutely refuse to watch it. Me? Well they had me at firemen but when you add Denis Leary in to the mix with his bad ass attitude and (ladies if there are any of you out there you will inevitably agree) those smouldering bad boy looks, well I’m ready to settle in and watch season after season on DVD.

Who doesn’t envy Tommy Gavin’s blunt, in your face, I do it my way or no way so fuck you attitude? It could be that combined with the insane amount of sex that these men seem to get throughout the season that turn away the female watchers but that’s not about to deter me, in fact i’m settling in to catch up on this season and I suggest that you get caught up as well.

I have always had a hard time with Will Smith movies, the thing is that I love him, he is an amazingly talented actor but I am almost always left with a feeling that something was missing from his movies or that something unnecessary to the storyline distracted from the plot – a la dying dog in ‘I Am Legend.’ These things being what they are, however, do not distract from the fact that I love to watch Will Smith in action because he is so flexible and just too damn talented not to watch and this movie was no exception.

Prepare yourself for a few bouts of tears from your lady friend, or perhaps a few “dust in my eye” moments from yourself as you embark upon an amazing journey with Smith’s character through something so heart wrenching that words would do it absolutely no justice.

The concept of the movie was great, what you would consider true to life…although Rosario Dawson (AKA Latina Angelina Jolie) on the brink of death via heart failure would perhaps not find the ability to have sex with her new friend the “tax man”, but the implication did add to the ‘aww’ factor at the end of the film so it wasn’t completely redundant.

I recommend checking this one out for the sheer humanity factor of it but if you’re the sort of guy who is prone to “dust in my eye” syndrome find a quiet corner to watch this one in because it’s damn sure gonna make you cry.

Sorry guys there were no nudie scenes in the movie, it’s definitely not that sort of movie, but I can oblige with a couple of shots of the gorgeous stars for the guys and the gals out there.

Batman Returns

I can’t believe that I have never seen Batman Returns before, especially considering Batman is my fantasy man…yeah yeah I know you don’t want to hear all about my secret fantasies involving a muscle stud in a bat costume…well that just sounded wrong but regardless, tonight Batman Returns came up on the TV Guide and I flipped it on.

Firstly I will mention my sadness at the lack of Michael Caine as Alfred.

That being said I have to also say that I have an impossibly hard time watching Michael Keaton and not thinking of his extra special clone on Multiplicity but all in all the movie has quite a few things that flip my trigger. What’s not to like about this movie ? Guys get the car, the fighting, the comic book hero and girls…well girls get the guy and I’ll be hellbent if I’m letting the guys keep that car for themselves.

Anyway, if you haven’t checked out the movie yet, do it.

Now for the fun stuff, for the guys and girls like me we have the Batmobile from the movie Batman Returns (although I’d rather take the new Batmobile from the Dark Knight any day of the week.) This particular Batmobile sits at 21ft in length and over 7ft wide at the rear, with 24 inch wheels, tell me that’s not awesome.

Now a little something for the ladies…now I understand that Michael Keaton may not be the man of your dreams so I skipped forward a few movies to bring you a smoking hot pic of Christian Bale looking hotter than hell itself.
