The Philips Light alarm with Ipod / Iphone dock also affectionately referred to as HF3490 is a pretty neat gadget, not a must have but a should have. I’m not quite sure if this one works as an actual light as well as a “sunrise alarm” but it is nifty all the same. The theory behind this alarm is that some people need that extra nudge of the sunlight to wake them up in the morning and failing supernatural powers that’s just not an option for people who need to be up at 4am. As the alarm goes off the light slowly rises and gets bright enough to wake you from your warm comfy slumber, add in the nature noises and you could almost believe it was a warm summer morning and you’re missing out on all the wonder that nature has to offer. If you’re not a nature sounds type of guy give the Ipod function a try or even use the built in FM tuner and get your rock on with some early morning death metal.
