I may be unconventionally un-girly when it comes to a love for all things tech but I also possess secret baking abilities that I occasionally dust off and today was one of those days. My mom’s birthday is approaching and I set my mind to baking a rum cake for her because…well who doesn’t love a good rum cake? Being that she lives a while away this puppy will go out via priority mail tomorrow morning to avoid sitting for too long but a little sitting allows all that rummy goodness to soak in so I’m sure she’ll enjoy it when it finally gets to her. The unfortunate event of the baking experience – and believe me there is ALWAYS an unfortunate event in any of my undertakings, not for a lack of optimism but more for an overindulgence in the clumsy gene, was that while cutting the cake to wrap it for shipping a few slices found there way on to the floor. Despite Techguy’s insistence that the thirty second rule was in play I tossed those, much to Techdog’s dismay. I have never seen a dog’s eyes get so big as he sat there staring at those lonely cake slices on the floor.

So there you have it, Techgal can in fact bake and pretty darn well if I do say so myself.
